Everything You Need to Know About TBS’s Miracle Workers

Miracle Workers Season 1

Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Karan Soni, and John Bass, along with the rest of the Miracle Workers gang are back for more (Season 4 is set to premiere July 10, 2023 ), and once again you’ll be seeing them in a whole new light. Here’s everything you need to know about this TBS original comedy.

Is Miracle Workers a Limited Series?

Sort of, but not really. Miracle Workers took a page out of the American Horror Story playbook and has adopted an anthology format. Each season features the same actors, but they’re in new roles, a new setting, and in a new self-contained story.

How Many Seasons of Miracle Workers Are There?

Currently there are four seasons. The first season was simply titled Miracle Workers, the second season was entitled Miracle Workers: Dark Ages, the third season was Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail, and the fourth season is Miracle Workers: End Times. Check out the promo art below:

How Many Episodes Are in Miracle Workers?

The first season consisted of 7 half-hour episodes. The second and the third seasons each had 10 episodes, also at thirty minutes (aka 22 mins) apiece. Season four is also expected to be 10 episodes.

What Channel Is Miracle Workers On?

Miracle Workers airs on TBS. As of this post you can stream the first three seasons on TBS.com.

Where Else Can You Stream Miracle Workers?

Miracle Workers can be found on Max, previously known as HBO Max.

Who Created Miracle Workers?

Miracle Workers was created by Simon Rich, who also created the show Man Seeking Woman. He was also a writer on SNL for a couple of seasons.

What is Miracle Workers Based On?

The first season of Miracle Workers was based on the book, “What in God’s Name: A Novel,” which was also penned by Simon Rich. However, the second season pulls from a different source, a short story called “Revolution,” also written by Rich.

In an interview with Deadline he said, “I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to bring my novel “What in God’s Name” to life in Season 1. And now that I’ve bled that sucker dry, I’m really excited to tell a brand-new story with the same group of brilliant actors.”

Couldn’t find anything to confirm otherwise, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a specific source material for the third season beyond maybe the Oregon Trail video game and perhaps some real history. But in a Deadline article, new showrunners Dan Mirk and Robert Padnick said, “Getting to tell an entirely new story with this ludicrously talented cast each season is a dream come true. We could not be happier that TBS has given us the reins on this unique and special show.”

And based on the trailer it would seem that the fourth season is riffing on the Mad Max movies and universe.

Regardless of the inspiration, there should be plenty of laughs. The show has forever earned my loyalty after giving us this amazing scene:
