Get cozy on the couch and grab the remote because there’s no better time to watch TV than during the Coronavirus quarantine. Below I’ve compiled a list of everything you could possibly need to pass the time from what to watch to snacking suggestions and even fitness tips.

If those aren’t exactly your jam, try using the advanced IMDB.com keyword search where you can narrow down TV shows or even episodes based on topics like: “pandemic,” “quarantine,” or “outbreak.” If you’d prefer something less thematic to our current state of affairs, feel free to select any other keyword that strikes your fancy like, “dog,” “party,” “murder,” etc… There’s literally thousands of keywords to filter by.
How to Watch TV With Friends From Afar
I’m 100% advocating for social distancing, but that doesn’t mean you have to binge watch alone. In fact, the Netflix Party chrome extension lets you chat with friends while watching something on Netflix.
Not a chrome user or want to watch something that’s not on Netflix? Try Kast, it’s supposed to make watch parties easy. I personally haven’t used it, I used its predecessor Rabb.it and it worked as advertised so it may be worth checking it out.
Easy Couch-Friendly Snacks
Time on the couch can be improved with snacks, but it’s not like you can just run out to the store to grab some more Totino’s pizza rolls. You might need to get creative, so here’s some snack ideas for your next marathon. Nutritional value may vary.

If you don’t have the right ingredients, culinary skills, or motivation, don’t forget – takeout and delivery is still an option. Eat local and support small businesses at the same time!
TV Show Drinking Games
You know what also pairs well with TV, snacks, and staying at home – drinking!
Already know what show you want a drinking game for? Just search for it on Google or Pinterest. There’s a lot more out there that’s show-specific than what you’ll find in the two links above.
Right here, on WatchingtheWasteland.com, you can find a Blindspot drinking game, a Helix drinking game, and a Longmire drinking game
Cheers!
Exercises to Do While Watching TV
And lastly, if you’re trying to keep up with your physical fitness (kudos to you), here’s a handful of ways you can still workout while watching TV!

Of course, if you’ve got cardio equipment at home you can always binge some TV while on a spin bike, stationary bike, treadmill, or elliptical. It may not be as comfortable as the couch, but I’ve heard it’s healthier.
So be safe, stay at home if you can, and enjoy rewatching old favorites or finding new TV shows to both love and pass the time. Happy social distancing!
